"It's an important time for Japanese Americans and others to claim and reassert our true American history and its lessons....We cannot stand by and be the silent, model minority, whose history and integrity can be questioned by government leaders without protest or reprimand."

Nosei and NOC speak up against Representative Howard Cobble's recent statements justifying JA internment.

In light of the impending war with Iraq, and post-9/11/01 attacks on civil liberties that specifically racially target Arab, Muslim and South Asian communities, the Nosei Network, Nihonmachi Outreach Committee and members of the Japanese American community feel it imperative to protest Representative Howard Coble’s (R-N.C.) recent statements justifying Japanese American internment.
